Tiffy Army is looking to halt Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng's invisibility

PHNOM PENH–Cambodia Premier League enters the fourth week as teams in both tiers of the country's football leagues justle for places on the table.

Here is the preview of the week 4 fixtures as defending champions Phnom Penh Crown seeks the first win of the season with runaway leaders Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC continuing to show invisible form.

Phnom Penh Crown FC vs Visakha FC

Phnom Penh Crown will play host to Visakha FC at their RSN Stadium and will look to put their dismal start to the season to a halt and get their title defense back on track. With only 1 point in the bag and low confidence, this is not the best time to host Visakha, which beam with confidence following their 5-0 demolition of Kirivong Soksen Chey last weekend. A win for Crown will no doubt be a morale booster and could well be the beginning of their rejuvenation. The kick-off time for this match will be 18:30.

Boeungket FC vs Angkor Tiger

The Four-time Cambodian Champions have had an inconsistent start to the season winning just one and losing two games in the three-week-old league, and are sitting 6th on the table. Angkor Tiger themselves have posted an average start to the season with a win, a draw and a loss to their credit and are in 4th place. While Bouengket was caged at Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC and suffered a 4-0 bashing Angkor Tiger came back twice to inflict a second straight defeat to the reigning champions Phnom Penh Crown FC. Will Boueng Ket make it three defeats in a row? They will have to put up a startling performance to checkmate the Tigers, which beam with confidence following their first win of the season. The kick-off is at 15:45 at the Cambodia Airways Stadium.

Tiffy Army vs Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC

All eyes will be on Tiffy Army as they file out to halt the winning streak of Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC. The Army boys have been averaging so far in the season with a win, a draw, and a loss to the bag and will face an invisible Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC. The match pitches the league’s best attack against the best defense so far in the three-week-old league. PKR Svay Rieng’s free-scoring form has seen them score 10 goals conceding just 2 while Tiffy Army has scored just 1 and conceded only 1. Will the Army’s arsenal shut down the flying PKR Svay Rieng’s missiles? The kickoff is at 18:30 at the Army Stadium Phnom Penh.

NagaWorld FC vs Kirivong Sok Sen Chey

Nagaworld FC has endured a slow start to the season and is now 2nd on the table following back-to-back wins and will come up against a hapless Kirivong Soksenchey who are rock bottom of the table with just 1 point to their credit. There is no better time for Nagaworld to play this fixture than now as a win for them could see them retain their second place and keep a close chase behind leaders PKR Svay Rieng. Kirivong Soksen Chey could well shock the hosts as they did against Angkor Tiger, scoring 3 goals, but unfortunately their defending has been quite suspect hence, they are where they are presently at the bottom of the table. Kick-off for this match is 18:30 at the Prince Stadium

CPL 2

The contest in the second tier of the Cambodia Premier League known as CPL 2 is lightening up with the table split into three halves. The top six, middle four, and bottom two. The standing keeps changing week in week out as teams record wins. In week 3, virtually all home teams recorded winnings with only 1 draw, and this week’s Fixtures could see some shocking results across the board with all 6 matches billed to kick-off at 15:45 in all the respective venues.

Prey Veng FC will play host to Tboung Khnoum FA while National Football Academy travels to Banteay Menchey FC. Siem Reap FC currently sitting bottom of the table will seek to get their first point when they welcome Next Step FC to their Siem Reap Stadium.

Joint Leaders National Police will be looking to extend their lead at the top when they take on fellow joint leaders Koh Kong FC. This fixture poses an opportunity for either side to pull away as the CPL adopts head-to-head rules in the event of two or more teams having the same points at the end of the season.

Top of the table, Electricite Du Cambodge will lock horns with ISI Dangkor Senchey FC. The match promises to be one of the star fixtures of the week as ISI Dangkor Senchey FC could see them leapfrog their host, and depending on results in other centers could see the Kang Sen boys at the top of the table.

Asia Euro United travels to Siem Reap to trade tackles with hapless Sotilo Angkor FC, who are in search of their first point of the season. AEU are fourth on the table with only a point behind the joint leaders and a win for them could see them move up the ladder. However, Sotilo will look for redemption out of the relegation zone, and would then be giving the visitors a run for their money.
