Milled Rice Exports Top $327 Million in 9 Months

PHNOM PENH – Cambodia exported over 450,000 metric tons of milled rice in the first nine months of 2023, earning gross revenue of $327 million. Exports were shipped to 57 countries and regions.



Such a volume is equivalent to 64.3 percent of the export target set by the Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF) at 700,000 tons for 2023.



According to a news release of the Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF), the country exported 155,366 tons of rice to China and its autonomous administration regions, making a revenue of $100 million. China is Cambodia’s first export country for milled rice.



Exports to 26 countries of the European Union reached 190,788 tons, generating $138 million.



Cambodia also exported 45,306 tons of milled rice to 5 ASEAN countries, for a revenue of $31 million. The remaining 66,331 tons were sent to other regions like Africa and the Middle East, for $57 million.



In addition to milled rice, Cambodia also exported 3,077,415 tons of paddy rice, earning a gross revenue of $862.39 million.



Besides these two types of rice, Cambodia also exported fragrant, organic, white, parboiled, and japonica rice.
