Ke Leng Wins Fourth Gold Medal at the World Championship

PHNOM PENH-- Cambodian player Ke Leng won her fourth gold medal at the 17th Young and Women’s Petanque World Championships Friday.


Ke Leng won with 36-22 over Lao player Bivilak Thepphakan in the final (shooting around) of the Petanque World Championships at Phnom Penh’s Olympic Stadium. 


“I will try hard for our country and I thank the Cambodian people for supporting me,” she said.


Leng has won four gold medals to date: the World Gold Medal in France in 2013, Thailand in 2015, China in 2017, and Cambodia Friday. 


Cambodia is hosting the 17th Young and Women’s Petanque World Championships 2019 at Phnom Penh’s Olympic Stadium, which started Nov. 17 and concludes Nov. 24.
