Hun Sen Wishes “Gong Xi Fa Cai” to Chinese People

PHNOM PENH--Prime Minister Hun Sen and his wife Bun Rany sent their best wishes to Chinese people who live in Cambodia and to Cambodians of Chinese ancestry on the occasion of the Chinese New Year.
"Please be careful when cooking food, burning paper, incense, and [handling] candles ... to avoid any fire accidents that could happen, which would be disrupt New Year's day due to negligence," he said on his Facebook page.
Hun Sen also urged people not to drink alcohol in excess and to respect others in order to prevent any road accidents during Chinese New Year.
Both Hun Sen and Bun Rany wished people happiness, prosperity, and good luck for the coming year, with the prime minister using the Mandarin Chinese “gong xi fa cai” expression for new-year best wishes in his message.
