Cambodians Injured as Thai Truck Overturns

PHNOM PENH – Twenty-five Cambodians were injured, two seriously, when a tired driver fell asleep at the wheel of his truck which overturned in Thailand.



The 18-wheel trailer was carrying 20 workers and five children on their way to cut eucalyptus trees, according to a Thai local news outlet.



The Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on March 6 they were travelling from their accommodation in Khlong Mafai village to Na Di district in  Prachinburi province. 



The badly injured pair were transferred to a hospital in Kabin Buri district of the same province. 



The other victims were given primary treatment and were sent to their accommodation by their employer. 



The Cambodian Consulate General in Sa Kaew, Thailand, said their employer will be responsible for all medical expenses.
