PHNOM PENH – A military helicopter has disappeared after losing contact during training in the Cardamom Mountain Range, the Ministry of National Defense said on July 13. Search is underway.
“A helicopter lost contact with the Air Force Headsquaters in the Cardamom Mountains in Pursat and Koh Kong provinces during training,” the ministry said in a statement posted on its Facebook page in the afternoon of July 13.
The incident took place due to bad weather and the search units have been looking for the missing helicopter since morning on July 13. So far, no parts of the helicopter have been located and the team will continue the search, the statement read.
The Ministry of National Defense did not specify what type of helicopter had disappeared or the number of people on board.
