PHNOM PENH – The ministries of Women's Affairs and of Public Works and Transport have become the latest of 34 public institutions to use verify.gov.kh to show that documents are genuine since its launch in 2022.

The site helps speed up work and verify documents by letting users scan QR codes.

The reform is part of the digital revolution and in line with the Government’s 2022-2035 policy.

Both ministries agreed on Feb. 8 to use verify.gov.kh, set up an internet connection, and for the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications to train staff in digital skills.

Chea Vandeth, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, said verify.gov.kh is a good solution in the digital age to speed up the provision of public services with high security while cutting costs.

“The education sector that uses the standard QR code has reduced unnecessary costs at least by $3 million each year. There is no cost to print a temporary diploma for students who passed the exam,” Vandeth said.

Verify.gov.kh makes it easy to use and verify the authenticity of documents while saving time and money as well as promoting the digital revolution in line with international best practices.

Verify.gov.kh won a gold medal in digital solutions for the 2024 ASEAN Best Public Services in Singapore on Feb. 1.
